Hey Gang: A Web Page update finally!!!! sorry for the dormant ( i.e. dead site ) as of late. The departure of Jason, Master Webmaster , hurt a lot more than we realized.

Some updates to get everybody caught up:

2009- The board of BR,PW, Tim, Ernie, Jean, and me met about 8 times. While you wouldn't know it we were hard at it .

1) We became a legal entity. Yep card carrying club registered in the state and the feds as a non profit. Actually got a Constitution and Articles of Incorporation. You can check it out at the Sec of State page at Ga. We are classified as a domestic non profit.

2) We are a IRS 501(C) 3. Saay whatt? This the Fed term that makes all contributions to the club tax deductible. This is a big deal to a lot of sponsors interested in " chipping in ". So hopefully this will open a few doors in 2010.

3) Working to establish a whole new Web page that the club can host and buildup independently of a web designer. Jim S. has stepped up to lead the charge. Some items it will have include a a monthly news letter as part of the home page, links to Facebook, Twitter, Calender with links to all races included, new updated message board, Pay Pal member registration , Club Shop page with items for sale, Training page showing details of our coaches monthly training plans, Education Meeting page showing details of educational speakers, History page showing Pictures and accomplishment of teams members, Sponsor page , Members only page showing monthly meeting minutes.

Now for 2010-

Ed has stepped down from the board after working on it forever. Steve W has stepped up with his folks.

Ernie is leading the DON- Jump in there!

BR is working a fantastic educational plan for the year. We will meet once every month on the second floor of Bonna Bella. Social from 6 to 6:30 Speaker from 6:30- 7:30. Dinner after optional.

Jim hope to roll out the web page in March.

BR is developing a membership card so as we develop sponsor discounts you can save a buck.

Radek is putting on a pool sprint Tri at Hunter in March. The " Rock of the Marne " has moved back to Sept 19th. Steve W is hoping to put on a "Baby Olympic" in May.

2009 is in full swing, the weather is warming up and we hope you are polishing off your bike and shoes and getting ready for the season.
This is a friendly reminder to please pay your membership dues for 2009.
Fees are 35$.

Why sign up?
You will be a part of the BEST triathlon team ever.
You will have access to various training sessions organized by members in our club. For safety purposes we will buy insurance for training events. Please understand that only those who paid their dues are allowed to participate.
You will receive a great team gift which is a transition towel this year (as long as supplies last)
We are providing you with monthly educational meeting in regards to various triathlon related topics.
We offer a great way to socialize and communicate with other members through our message board.
We offer a $ 5.00 discount to our team race, The Savannah “ Rock of the Marne� Triathlon on June 21, 2009. You will be given a discount code via email prior to the race.

How can I sign up?
We have attached the registration form. You can print it out, fill in the blanks and send it with your check to the PO Box listed on the form.
Or you can go to Quality Bike and ask them for a form, they will take your form and cash/check. We will make sure to get the team gift to you.

Please sign up before April 3o th.

What's new in Savannah Triathlon Team?

The Rock of the Marne is all in the news! NickB and his huge support of volunteers did an outstanding job with the inaugural event last week. Highlights include:

1. Props to Radek, Kristel, and JasonS for their first place finish in the men's, women's, and military divisions.

2. Over 150 speed racers completed the event.

3. We were able to make a $5,000 donation to the Hunters Spouses Club with the Savannah Wheelman kicking in another $1,000. HUGE!

4. No gator attacks!

And, if you think this one was big, then just wait until you see what Nick has up his sleeve for next year!

Other news.

The River Rats are still swimming the river Wednesday nights from the Dutch Island dock. This swim followed by tiki hut style post swim social will be winding down with the season so make sure you get out there an enjoy it while it last. For more information go to the message board and look for River Rat post.

The Thursday night bricks are still going strong. These are leaving from Lots Island at 6 PM for 2 laps around perimeter then off the bike for an out and bike run. All levels are welcome and encouraged and follow the crowd to Jalapenos for a post race beer and taco. Again, these are seasonal and probably on the last months due daylight restrictions. But check them out.

Our annual October business meeting will be announced soon so stay tuned for more there! This is one of only two formal meetings held by your club each year and is used to elect new Executive Committee members. This year there will be replacement for Lysette, who moved to Seattle, and for Kemp (me) who simply moves...

Radek's Race is on tap for October 29. If you aren't racing it get your butt out and volunteer. Great fun event and best of all LOCAL!

Good luck to all who are training for late season long course events. Too many to mention but you know who you are! And congratulations to all those who trained and raced in 2008. Great year from St. Anthony's to The Rock!

STT Team News - January 9, 2007

Welcome to the new front "Blog" page! Our web master Jason has created this to allow us to keep the membership more up to date using the front page! WOW do I feel like king!

What is new?

The 2008 Executive Committee consist of KempN, LysetteH, KristelM, NickB, EdF, KristenG, and JohnB.

The two departing members are Shari and Iris. Shari was one of the founding members back in the day and has been a strong voice promoting the group and serving in many roles. Iris has been a member as long and has served the membership with the same passion that she puts into everything. Thanks to both of you for your role on the EC for the past years.

There are just under 40 Savannah Tri Team member registered for St Anthony's 2008! That is amazing as last years record number for this event were just at 30. What does it all mean? We will be getting our team hotel with team rate, race day breakfast, and various opportunities to talk substantial smack and race hard. As tradition, there will also be food and beverage opportunities along the pool side with ample opportunity to socialize!

There is also the possibility for team race singlets and some sort of t-shirt order with the much requested STT logo....Stay tuned!

The membership sign up party will be annouced for late January or early February. More to come but the EC is looking into signing up with Active for membership dues. So to avoid the fee you will need to attend this party and renew your membership. Those renewing after the party will have to go through Active.

This years team gift will be running caps with the STT logo. The order has been placed and we aniticpate the caps will be in time for the membership party!

Oh, the aquatic center is all enclosed! That means the deck is cozy and the pool is back! So those waiting to get back to the pool scene can now set your alarm clocks and get your butts in the water!!!
