The Savannah Triathlon Team (STT) was started as a unofficial group in 1997 by Brian White. Under the leadership of Kemp Nussbaum the club grew to approximately 70 athletes in the last decade. In 2009 the club incorporated in the State of Georgia as a domestic Non-Profit. in December of 2009 we received our IRS 501c3 status allowing charitable donations that will help pursue our primary purpose of education and training of athletes in the sport of triathlon.

In 1978 Nestor Gernay started the first swim-bike-run triathlon on the US mainland.
